Enphase · About 15 minutes

Enphase says "not reporting"? It's usually connectivity — not your solar.

In most cases your panels are still producing power; the Envoy gateway just lost its connection to the internet, so the app can't show you the data. These steps restore reporting for most homeowners.

Safety first: every check below can be done from the ground with equipment covers in place. Never climb on your roof, open an inverter or electrical panel cover, or touch wiring — solar equipment carries lethal voltage even when the sun is down. When in doubt, just call us.

Safe checks you can do yourself

1

Confirm it's a reporting issue, not a production issue

'Not reporting' means the Enphase App stopped receiving data — your system is usually still making power. A quick sanity check: on a sunny day, your electric meter should be running slower than usual or showing energy flowing out. If your inverter area shows fault lights or you had a recent outage, see our 'solar not producing' guide instead.

2

Restart your home internet router

The Envoy (Enphase's gateway, a small box near your electrical panel) reports through your home internet. Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait a few minutes. If your Wi-Fi network name or password changed recently — new router, new provider — that's very likely the cause.

3

Check the Envoy's lights

Find the Envoy near your electrical panel. A solid or blinking green network light means it's talking to Enphase; red or amber means it lost its connection. Note which lights are which color — it tells us a lot if you end up calling.

4

Reconnect the Envoy to your Wi-Fi if it changed

In the Enphase App, go to Menu → Settings → your system → Wi-Fi configuration to point the Envoy at your new network. If your Envoy is connected by ethernet cable instead, make sure the cable is seated at both ends.

5

Wait up to 24 hours for data to backfill

Once the Envoy reconnects, it uploads the production data it stored while offline. The app can take several hours to a day to fully catch up — a gap in your graphs that later fills in is normal.

When to stop and call a pro

If reporting doesn't come back, the Envoy itself or the system may need attention. Call us if:

  • The app still shows 'not reporting' 24 hours after your internet is confirmed working
  • The Envoy shows no lights at all (it may have lost power — a licensed electrician should check why)
  • The app reports individual microinverters offline even though the Envoy is connected
  • Your electric bill jumped, suggesting the system truly stopped producing
